Thanks for the tip about Harry Shearer being on the show on Friday. I enjoyed the whole year end show. Until that broadcast, I didn't realize that Le Show is broadcast on Sundays at 3:00 pm. I used to listen to it at that time on Sirrius, until they dropped their PRI station. I like having the alter...

Charity

I've been away for a couple of weeks and it was good to hear Bob when I returned. Wednesday's program was interesting to me -- "Who is more charitable: liberals or conservatives? Writer Arthur Brooks thought he knew the answer too. That is until he did a little research into the issue. The resulting...

The only "hot button" you pressed for me was admiration for how well you stated both points. Obviously I agree. Long ago, in college (Presbyterian affiliated) I took a required course in Old Testament and one in New Testament. One important point in both was understanding the development of the text...

Morning Edition

I know, I know, I shouldn't listen, but sometimes it just happens. This morning they did again one of the things that is utterly laughable. When they begin a story, they have different voices read a sentence at a time. (Sorry for the bad description.) Last time Steve read one sentence of introductio...

I forgot about the Naval Observatory clock!! I heard that too -- it annoyed me even more because I can't even listen to H&N on my public radio station as a substitute because they pre-empt it on Mondays. I fired off a message and called, but thought I was the only one listening -- glad to know I was...

Thanks Charlie! I'm a little behind in reading the messages, but hearing this clip of Bob brightened my rainy afternoon!

The time checks were even more nostalgic because my station dropped them years before Bob was dropped.

I agree, it was nearly perfect. I appreciated the coverage about the Yahoo problem and that it was broadened to the wider problem rather than simply being about Yahoo. The interview with Jane Elliot was amazing. The new issue of Smithsonian (October) came yesterday and in my zeal to keep magazines f...

Automatic log-in

On two different visits, I logged in and checked the box to be automatically logged in on each visit. I didn't have my Password manager remember it. After I exited, each time I returned I had to log in again. The automatic login didn't work. Don't know if this is a problem or not, or perhaps I am mi...
