Why Does NPR Need to Lie?
I posted the following article to the Nostalgic Rumblings blog earlier today: The Sacramento Bee ran a column yesterday that was basically a puff piece, promoting an event with Renee Montagne and Ellen McDonnell this evening. Thing is, the article is so...well...wrong that it again begs the...

Hum...at right before midnight Eastern time the radios locked-up on a "Only on Air America" promo commercial (kinda wish they knew enough about public radio to stop advertising AA shows on XMPR, but nevermind that gripe now) and went silent. Other channels, though, are fine, and the "emergency loop"...

The Previous Guests calendar links should now be corrected; while the calendar is still woefully behind, at least the books/CDs/DVDs linked there should no longer be broken. Please let me know if you find any that are still broken, or direct to the wrong item. And a note that any purchases from Barn...

Apologies, folks...
I am terribly far behind in updating the Previous Guests calendar, and for that I apologize. No excuses, I've been dealing with some personal issues, compounded by a series of computer f...

Goodbye, Phil
Today's show marks the last worked on by Phil Harrell, one of the original producers of The Bob Edwards Show. He's been with the show since August of 2004, and tells me he was one of the first two producers hired for the show (along with Melissa Gray). He sends his best to everyone here, an...

...who's a little dissapointed with last Friday's American Folklife Center segment? (Before going any farther, yes, I know I'm painfully behind. Heck, look at the Previous Guests calendar if you need any more proof...) While Bob and guest Steve Winick talked a good bit about Burl Ives' baudy tunes, ...
