The Electric Company
It seemed that Bob's producers used the "decades channel "approach for this piece. I thought is came out well, I thought the PBS sounder at the end of the segment was a nice touch.

LBJ tapes
LBJ's telephone conversation about is suit with the "too tight" pants was hilarious. On a serious note, I liked the "Aerial Boundries" bumper music just before the second break; a great song! Bob's producers don't miss a beat...

I find it somewhat interesting that the talk is about all the listeners that will be following Howard to Sirius. I have had more than one person tell me that they got Sirius to hear Howard. It makes me wonder if XM hasn't had a similar trend with Bob Edwards listeners, and if not, why not? Maybe the...

I heard XMPR playing music Saturday night; I just switched to another station. There are enough channels on XM that play music all the time. XM's hosted music programs such as American Routes, Riverwalk Jazx, Mountain Stage, etc are great, because they are unique, but we don't need a "jukebox". Ther...

I've listened to the BBC (Ch 131) for a while with the "new" processing. The main effect of the very aggressive processing is to amplify every breath the announcer takes so that it now sounds as if they're out of breath all the time. I haven't heard a music program on BBC since the change, but if wh...

Audio processing changes
Anyone else notice the changes XM has made to their audio processing on most channels, including Ch 133? Sounds to me as if they have had someone come in and crank up the processing so it's more agressive. It was a real shame that Bob Edwards interview with Yo Yo Ma had to come through the new proce...

Are you referring to "Move On"?RussGifford wrote:Happened on her next book on the shelf last night
As to the show "Overnight", I remember it well, with the duck and all. For the benefit of those who don't know, Linda's lower profile existance is her production company "Lucky Duck Productions".

Re: Gerry Wills
he asks quesitons and builds a body of information, rather than attempting to look like he's the star of the interview. A few years ago, Linda Ellerbee wrote a book "And So It Goes", where whe explained why interviewers don't often do this. Traditional producers complain that it wouldn't "play to t...

Studs Terkel
Wow. Another great interview with one of radio's colorful characters. Studs Terkel is one whose stories you can listen to for hours... Wait, I used to do that back when he had the Studs Terkel Almanac. Anyway, my complements to Studs, Bob, and the producer for a great interview!
