I don't have any suggestions, but I'd sure like to know what the team is planning for the first anniversary show!

As soon as I get some time, I'll give a full report on attending the first anniversary party and taping of the anniversary show last evening!Judygalloway wrote:I don't have any suggestions, but I'd sure like to know what the team is planning for the first anniversary show!
But with only a few minutes right now, I only have the time to thank the entire production staff for talking such good care of us the entire evening, and to XM for providing some amazing food and drinks (I had my bourbon with nothing but ice, just like the big guy said).
Promise, more later, including photos of the studio where the magic happens (with admin Russ Gifford sitting in the big guy's chair), the taping last night, the production staff, and much, much more!

Re: October 4
As I mentioned elsewhere, NPR refused to allow Dan Schorr to discuss Edward R. Murrow, so Bob's guests for the Tuesday show are are Hugh Panero, President and CEO of XM Satellite Radio, and Marshall Chapman, singer, songwriter, raconteur, and all-round "tall drink of water." I'd bet all the stories she told won't hit the airwaves (even on XM!), but I sure hope her song, "Been Rode Hard and Put Up Wet" makes it!Judygalloway wrote:I'd sure like to know what the team is planning for the first anniversary show!

So tell me...how did you handle that mental image of her (Marshall Chapman) gardening?tps wrote:The interviews, as he did them in the studio were wonderful. I'm sure his producers will do their usual outstanding job and put together a great show.

Well, I guess it must have been something like the cover of her book...CharlieSummers wrote: So tell me...how did you handle that mental image of her (Marshall Chapman) gardening?
That interview was a special treat for me. I've been a Marshall Chapman fan for years. I've got vinyl copies of a couple of her albums that I picked up in a used record store in the 1980s. She's got a very interesting voice, and lots of interesting tales to tell. I'm glad Bob can work her in from time to time.

It was the duct tape and cardboard hat that made my mental eye blink a few times...tps wrote:Well, I guess it must have been something like the cover of her book...
